Do you Remember learning your mother tongue? How did that experience suffer from your efforts to learn second language?
Mother tongue is the in-born language, which a baby has
already familiarized even in the gestation of mother before it was born. The
first language is the language which a child acquires either through schooling
or socialization, such as family.
We cannot learn very quick second language it may takes some
time and probably it depends upon human knowledge some can learn early and few
slowly. "Learning a second language, after the critical period for
language learning has ended, is more difficult because as use age the more our
native language comes to dominate linguistic map space and the second language
finds it’s hard to compete." Main things are motivation, attitude, age,
intelligence, aptitude, cognitive style, and personality are considered as
factors that greatly influence someone in the process of his or her second
language acquisition.
Learning second language put simply, it’s hard because it challenges both your mind (your brain has to construct new cognitive frame works). But there more to it than that. The first language is like an instinct which is triggered by birth and developed with the experience of being exposed to it. A second language is always fixed by the person, and it is a personal choice of a person. There are many alternatives to a second language. A person or community can choose a second language among other language.
At what age did you learn English? Do you think English should be learnt from a very young age?
At the age of VI, He/I started to learn English but the actual study of English begins after 7-8 years of age and in additional to games, songs and poems, children begin to master of words and expressions, learn grammar, transcription and language vocabulary, one of the main benefits of learning a second language at an early age is that children learn languages faster and easier. They have more time to learn, less to learn, few intuitions, and a brain designed for language at a early age is much easier than trying to learn later because the language center of the brain is skill developing.
Research shows that learning a second language boost
problem-solving, critical thinking and listening skills, in addition to
improving memory, concentration and ability to do multiple art.
