Tomorrow’s Citizens Knowledge-Sweat-Perseverance           One cannot stop at thinking and asking questions. There is a need to act to solve the problems and that requires hard work and perseverance.        As President and earlier as a scientist, life has taught me the importance of three qualities; knowledge, sweat and perseverance.     O ur country has a very bright future and all of us, especially the children. who will be the leaders of tomorrow have to work hard. The vision of a Developed India will not come on its own. It will not be gifted to us by someone but we have to work and work hard to achieve the goals which we have set for ourselves. Tomorrow's Citizens Our Greatest Wealth           India is poised in the mission of transforming itself into a developed nation and by the year 2020. The prime resource through which this transformation is possible is the 540 million youth who are below the age of twenty-five.           Children and youth are the picture of a nation's future. They are our hope for tomorrow. The youth in India constitute a sizable, vibrant and resourceful segment of our society which has a burning desire to scale greater heights. Pegasus : The Winged Horse           Some of you may have heard that 'Pegasus' was a snow-white steed with beautiful silvery wings who spent most of his time on the top of a mountain. He was as wild and as swift in his flight through the air as any eagle and seemed hardly to be a creature of the earth.           Whenever he was seen up very high above people's heads, with the sunshine on his silvery wings, you would have thought that he belonged to the sky, and that, skimming a little - too low he had gone astray among our mists and vapors, and was seeking his way back. About the Poet:           Berton Braley (1882 - 1966) was an American poet. He was a prolific writer who wrote about twenty books and most of them were collections of poems. Some of his major works include Sonnets of a Freshman, Sonnets of a Suffragette, Songs of the Workaday World, Things As They Are and The World's One Thousand Best Poems. Summary           In this narrative poem, the poet gives a scary picture of superstition driven India. It carries Ezekiel's stringent of satire against the many maladies that affect Indian society. It also explores the benign love of a mother for the child which itself is a conspicuous feature of Indian-ness.           The poet vividly brings out the emotions experienced when a scorpion bites his mother. The pain, the suffering which the author undergoes after being stung by a scorpion on a rainy day is described here.           A scorpion crawls into the poet's hut on a rainy day and hides under a sack of rice. Dear Son,             It was a pleasant surprise to receive your mail. To start with, let me tell you are definitely not unique to go through what you are going through. Pressures are not new; I still have them, only the reasons change. But we all have to learn to handle them; the faster you do the better you are. All through my career, I have always tried to think and implement solutions to problems or pressures, different from the existing norms because I have always felt that there has to be a different method to approach a problem.
